Advice & Guidance - Pregnancy & Contraception

Pregnancy tests can be obtained from Sexual health/Family Planning clinics and some voluntary sector agencies for free. They can also be bought from any pharmacy. Those under 25 years can also obtain pregnancy tests from Cornerhouse and their school nurse. Pregnancy tests will not show accurate result until at least 2 weeks after conception.(when your period is due)

If worried about pregnancy and under 25 years of age you can attend Cornerhouse, GUM, Family Planning, your GP, other voluntary sector agencies or school nurses to have a pregnancy  test /discuss what to do next (if over 25 as above except Cornerhouse, which is for under 25's only). If you are unsure what to do you can be referred for specialist counselling to help you to make the right decision for you.

For advice, information and supplies of all available methods of contraception – attend your local Family Planning clinic (eg Conifer House). Some GPs may also provide this service.
