Advice & Guidance - Pregnancy & Contraception

Coils and Implants are usually fitted as a 2 stage procedure. At the first visit your medical history and suitability for the method will be assessed and then a mutually agreeable date for fitting will be arranged.

This can be done by attending:
- your local sexual health/family planning clinic
- your GP (for fitting or referral to specialist services)

For advice, information and supplies of all available methods of contraception – attend your local Family Planning clinic (eg Conifer House), your GP may also provide this service.

LARC information can be found here.
